Berkeley Heights Public Library is a great place to bring the kids if it’s a rainy day or just too cold to play outside. Trhere is a e a large variety of books for both adults and children along with many activities and computer programs for the kids. Hours are on Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Summer hours are a little shorter and the library is closed on Sundays in the summer.
The Littell-Lord Farm House and Farmstead, at 31 Horseshoe Road in Berkeley Heights, is an 18-acre museum surrounding two houses, one of which was built in the 1750s and the other well over 100 years ago. There are many exhibits in this museum. Some of the more touchable exhibits are a Victorian children's room, furnished with period antiques. The children's room also has reproductions of antique toys, which visitors can play with. The museum also includes an outbuilding that was used as a summer kitchen, a corncrib dating to the 19th century and a springhouse, built around a spring and used for refrigeration.
