Deserted Village
The Deserted Village, Glenside Park/ Feltville Historic District, hidden in the Watchung Reservation, is a national and state registered historic district today consisting of a ten-building village built in 1845 by New York businessman David Felt, known as "King David”. Feltville became Glenside Park in the 1880s. Restoration and archeological work are always going on and the archeologists date human occupation back to prehistoric times.

The Saltbox Museum is located on 1350 Springfield Avenue. The main house is a combination of two houses constructed at different times and in different places. The east half of the house was probably built early in the 19th century and moved to its site across from it present location in the mid-1800's by Augustus Garrison, sexton of the Presbyterian Church. The west, somewhat newer, side was moved from it original site and joined to the east half and the saltbox shape constructed. In 1967, the entire house was moved across Springfield Ave to its present location. The Museum is open to the public, free of charge, on the first and third Sundays of each month from one until three pm and Thursdays from 10 am until Noon. Group tours can be arranged by appointment only.
